The Village, Belfast

Located in the shadow of Windsor Park football ground, GM Design Associates were commissioned to rehabilitate 21no. derelict properties constructed circa.1890-1910. There were 2 phases completed – Phase 1 comprising 9no. dwellings and Phase 2 comprising 11no. dwellings and 2no. apartments. Many of these properties were catastrophically dilapidated prior to rehabilitation reflecting years of decline with the historic and proud neighbourhood.

Bespoke solutions including significant reconstruction were delivered to each property ensuring key historic features were retained, together with providing thermal comfort and energy efficiency, whilst enhancing the key features of the historic Victorian streetscapes. These properties were designed to comply with Secured by Design standards and have been critically acclaimed within the local community and beyond since completion.
